Q: Can my employer or insurance company stop my benefits at anytime?

A: No. The insurance carrier or your employer cannot stop your benefits unless you either agree in writing to stop those benefits or a workers’ compensation Judge, after hearing evidence orders that your benefits be stopped. If the insurance company does stop your benefits unilaterally, they may be subject to penalties of up to 50% of your weekly benefits plus payment of attorney’s fees.
