Burlington, VT, diocese settles 26 abuse cases for $18M

According to the AP (5/13), the Catholic Church has decided to settle in a case brought against it in Vermont by twenty-six former altar boys who claim they were sexually abused by priests. Their lawyer has stated that an arbitrator will decide how much of the settlement each boy will receive. This is merely the latest in dozens of lawsuits brought against the Burlington diocese for negligent hiring.
