On August 19, 2008 the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court further clarified whether employees who work for multiple employers and are required to commute from one client to another are entitled to workers' compensation benefits when they are injured in a car accident. Normally, injuries that occur while workers are commuting to and from work are not compensable except in special circumstances. Here the Court found that a worker who had multiple employers was entitled to compensation benefits when injured en route to a client's home for that employer. The Court reasoned that such actions did not constitute abandonment of the duties for her employer.
