Potential damages more than doubled in Boy Scouts abuse case

As reported by the AP (3/31), the judge in a sexual abuse case against the Boy Scouts of America has decided to grant a request to increase the potential punitive damages from $10 million to $25 million. The plaintiff, a man alleging abuse in the early 1980s, and his lawyers decided to seek the increased damages after reading through documentation kept by the Boy Scouts on possible sexual abuse by adult volunteers from the time period of 1965-1984.
