The New York Times (3/18, Yardley) reported on secret files kept by the Boy Scouts of America now revealed that lawyers for a victim of sex abuse say describe efforts by Boy Scout officials to conceal abuse in hundreds of cases. Lawyers for the Boy Scouts, however, characterize the documents as a listing of proactive efforts to halt abuse. The case at hand involves a man who was abused by a scout leader in the early 1980s and is seeking $4 million in damages.
